It was noted that following receipt of the temporary resignation of Councillor Vaughan from the Committee, the Service Director, Legal and Business Operations, acting under delegated powers, had appointed Councillor J Payne to replace them for the purposes of this meeting.  In addition the Committee noted the apologies of Councillor Stead

The Committee considered the report of the Service Director, Legal and Business Operations enabling the Overview and Scrutiny Management Committee to examine the content of the Forward Plan and to discuss issues of interest or concern with the Executive.

Gino Picciniino, Mr Jilonmiah, Ismail Imran, Parveen Ishfaq, Syed Askari, Danny Sunder, Fiza Hussain, Joy Richardson, Maggie Fricker, Mike Marxs, Romana Syed, Vashia Islam, Nick Chaffey, Faiza Bhatti, Catherine Clark, Dea Lewis, Ali Maydor,  a representative of Southampton Park Lives and Councillor Kataria were in attendance representing various local organisations that used the leisure centre and, with the consent of the Chair, addressed the meeting.

RESOLVED that the Committee recommended that Cabinet did not close St Marys Leisure Centre at this time.

The Committee noted the report of the Service Director, Legal and Business Operations, enabling the Overview and Scrutiny Management Committee to monitor and track progress on recommendations made to the Executive at previous meetings.
