Day in my life tools provide a reference point to support professionals' thinking when exploring neglect with children and their families/carers. 

Each tool reflects a different group of children and young people and identifies particular issues professionals may want to consider. The tool can be used to guide conversations and to support assessment of need. 

This tool should be used with the family to support their understanding of the child's experiences and their view.

• What a child needs

This document has been designed to be used alongside the Was Not Brought policy if a child has not been brought to appointments or there has been no access home visits. The aim is to help practitioners formulate their thoughts on why they are concerned that a child’s health needs are being neglected.
