E-Scooter and e-bike conditions for docks

Micromobility schemes have existed in Southampton since March 2021 when Voi rental e-scooters were launched as part of the wider Department for Transport national e-scooter trial. In October 2022, bike share was added to the mix when the Beryl Bikes by Breeze scheme launched. From July 2024, Voi now operates the scheme for e-scooters and e-bikes, offering residents and visitors a green and healthy way to get around the city, which improves air quality and reduces congestion.

The proposed terms and conditions that will be incorporated into consents granted by the council under Part VIIA of the Highways Act 1980 permitting Voi to place rental e-scooter and e-bike parking facilities on a footway and which will govern the operator footway parking arrangements at each prospective licensed site in Southampton can be found in theĀ Micromobility Draft Licence Conditions.
