SCN3 Eastern Cycle Freeway

The SCN3 Eastern Cycle Freeway is part of the Southampton Cycle Network (SCN). It provides a new segregated, shared route to help more people in the east of the city and Hampshire cycle safely and with confidence. The route includes a new 2.6km segregated cycle freeway along Bursledon Road from Windhover Roundabout as well as priority for people cycling over side crossings and improved crossing points. At Bitterne village, the route connects to the SCN4 which provides a network of ‘quiet ways’ through Bitterne to Northam Road.

Watch the video or click on the interactive map (both below) to learn more about the SCN3 route – then why not try it for yourself? You’ll also find links to other useful services which can help you build your cycling confidence.
