Enforcement notices and register

An enforcement notice is a legal document that can be served on people who have carried out work without the required planning approval.

A notice could request that:

  • The work stops or prevent the ongoing activity ongoing
  • The unauthorised building or extension is removed
  • The development is altered to be more acceptable

You can view enforcement notices that have been served by searching our online Planning Enforcement Register. Please select “Enforcements” on the simple or advanced search facility within Public Access (by clicking on the link you are agreeing to the terms and conditions).
