Sustainable energy

Reducing our energy consumption, supporting the generation of sustainable energy and reducing carbon emissions is one of our most important commitments for tackling the climate emergency.

The council has been monitoring emissions related to its direct operations and the energy it consumes since 2010. Work has begun on phase one of the council's CAD (Corporate Asset Decarbonisation scheme) with solar panels, LED lighting and improvements to control systems are being installed at seven of the authority’s sites including the Civic Centre, Nursling Depot and City Depot.
