Southampton City Council and partners are calling on all residents, businesses, and visitors to share their experiences and views of the city, council services, and their vision for Southampton

The City Survey, launched today, provides an opportunity to get views from people on key priority issues and to gain better understanding of perceptions of how we are doing as a council and as a city. It enables people to share their views on what matters to them, from communities to local public services. Feedback will help understand what Southampton needs to make it a better place to live, work, study, and visit.

The survey also features questions on the future of Southampton, building on the city‘s strengths and potential future priorities. The responses will help shape the development of a new city-wide plan setting out key missions for the city over the next decade. The development of the plan will bring together partners across the city, to build a shared collective vision for Southampton.

By getting involved at this early stage, we can work collaboratively to identify and address key themes, ensuring that the city's growth is aligned with the community's values. We are encouraging as many people as possible to work with us and have their say on the future of Southampton.

Southampton is a city with so much potential. From our diverse communities and world-class businesses including Ordnance Survey and Ocean Infinity, to our fantastic education and research facilities at the University of Southampton and University Hospital Southampton, there’s plenty to celebrate. Our Purple Flag Award-winning evening economy provides so many entertainment opportunities for residents and visitors alike. Completing the survey will help to identify Southampton’s current strengths and potential future opportunities.

The survey closes on Sunday 5 January 2025.

Councillor Lorna Fielker, Leader of Southampton City Council said:

"The City Survey is a great opportunity for our residents to play an important and active role in shaping which priorities we will focus on over the next ten years and beyond.

It’s not just about the council, it also gives people the chance to have their say on our city, what you love, what you would change and what kind of place you want Southampton to be by 2035. We would really like to hear what you think”.
