Council services – opening times over festive seasons and bank holidays

There are council services that are unavailable during festive seasons and bank holidays. Here is a handy round up of information and those services affected.

The following days are bank holidays in 2025:

• 18 April – Good Friday
• 21 April – Easter Monday
• 5 May – Early May bank holiday
• 26 May – Spring bank holiday
• 25 August – Summer bank holiday
• 25 December – Christmas Day
• 26 December – Boxing Day

On bank holidays:

• Customer services phone lines are closed
• Gateway is closed
• Check your bin collection calendar to see how your collection dates may be affected
• Changes to Housing Benefit payments will be posted in News and Housing Benefit changes
• Our libraries are closed
