These meetings are set up as required to
facilitate individual key decisions made within the framework of
the Officer Scheme of Delegation.
Council delegates
decision making powers to Officers through the Officer Scheme of
Delegation. There are three Statutory Officers in each local
authority who have legal responsibilities for ensuring the Council
carries out its statutory duties and in providing advice to elected
Members on the implications of decisions.
Other officers,
for example the Director of Children’s Services and Learning,
also have specific responsibilities under government legislation
and these are detailed in Section 3 of the Council Constitution
which shows the responsibilities for functions within the
Council.
