The following motion to be moved and seconded:-

That in pursuance of Section 249 (1) of the Local Government Act 1972, the office of Honorary Aldermen be conferred on former councillors Linda Norris and David Beckett in recognition of their eminent service to the City and their names be recorded in the Roll of Honorary Aldermen. 

 NOTE:

Under the provisions of Section 249 (5) and (1) of the Local Government Act 1972 these resolutions, to be effected, must be passed by not less than two thirds of the members voting at the meeting. 

RESOLVED unanimously:

That in pursuance of the provisions of Section 249(1) of the Local Government Act 1972, the office of Honorary Alderman be conferred on former Councillors David Beckett and Linda Norris in recognition of their eminent service to the City and their names be recorded in the Roll of Honorary Aldermen.
