Consultation process
These proposals have been developed from the
wider consultation undertaken as part of the Community Development
consultation between March and May 2017. Further consultation and
engagement events have happened with a range of local providers of
play and youth activities in the City. The majority of funding
going into the new service has historically been associated with
front line play and youth activities that were grant funded by the
Council. In addition to this, Southampton City CCG is investing
£40,000 per annum in relation to ensuring that supported play
and youth activity supports the emotional and mental health and
resilience of children and young people in the city.

Slippage/Variations/Reason for Withdrawal: Initial consultation with potential service providers has prompted a revision of the proposals around the modelling of future youth provision. Therefore further consultation with local children and young people through the Council's Youth Forum is required.
