To consider the report of the
Cabinet Member for Leisure, Culture and Heritage, following
Council’s approval on 18th November 2009, and subject to any
further necessary consents and approvals from key stakeholders,
seeking approval for the sale of specified items from the arts
collection at a time when all alternative funding sources have been
comprehensively examined and exhausted
Subject to Cabinet approval on 26th October for the authority to
submit a formal request to the Attorney General’s office to
proceed and agree on the financial procedures for art disposals, it
is the Council’s intention to allocate any receipts from
sales towards funding the Sea City Museum project as part of
Southampton’s Cultural Quarter.
