The Board considered the report of the Cabinet Member for Adults and Health detailing the Director of Public Health Annual Report 2023-2024.

The Board discussed how important and more effective it was that the citizens were involved in developing strategies and practices in their own area to sustainably drive forward health improvement in the community. 

RESOLVED that the Board Members noted the contents of the annual report, particularly the 4 recommendations seeking to:

·  Identify strengths and enable communities to take control

·  Build support around families, communities and neighbourhoods, not professions and focus on prevention and early intervention

·  Prioritise communities with poorer health outcomes to reduce health inequalities and assess the impact of a community-centred approach; and

·  Shift mindsets to embed a different relationship between communities and organisations.
