Issue - meetings

The Board considered the report of the Director of Public Health detailing the draft of the Health Protection Annual Report of 2024. 

With the consent of the Chair Robin Poole addressed the meeting and set out the issues within the report.

Board Members discussed the various pressures within the City on the health of its residents including those issues relating to climate change, pollution and culturally. 

Members expressed a concern that evidence used to underpin the report should be properly reflective of the communities it relates to and that consultations should be properly advertised and representative.

The Board explored the provision of leisure activities across the City especially to encourage teenage females to participate in sport.  The Board also discussed the importance of encouraging citizens to move to public transport, walking or cycling and noted the importance of encouraging an active City. 

 RESOLVED: that the Board noted the contents of this paper and the Health Protection Annual Report (Appendix 1).
