The Panel considered the report of the Director of Quality and Integration written to develop an understanding of respectable and responsive business services and consistent and reliable travel options. 

 

Following discussions with external partners the Panel concluded that:

 

·  Consider office environment audit for all Council customer facing buildings.

·  Potential for DemFest 2016 in Southampton.

·  Opportunity for the Council to use its influence to ensure that new travel and transport schemes in the City incorporate dementia friendly design principles, especially when the Council part funds initiatives.

·  Progress is being made by SCC and bus operators to make services more dementia friendly.

 

 

RESOLVED that the comments made by Katherine Barbour in her professional role as Senior Project Manager, Dementia Quality Improvement Programme, Wessex Academic Health Science Network and on a personal level with the Portswood Action Group, Phil Williams Health and Wellbeing Development Officer, Age UK Southampton, Paul Walker Head of Transport, Highways and Park, Southampton City Council and representatives from bus operators First Group and Go South Coast be noted and used as evidence in the review.
