Purpose:
Report of the Head of Planning and Management detailing the amount calculated by Southampton City Council as its Council Tax base for the year commencing 1st April 2021.
Decision:
(i) To approve the amount calculated by Southampton City Council as its Council Tax Base for the year commencing 1 April 2021 as 64,389 equivalent Band D dwellings.
(ii) To note the estimated Collection Fund council tax deficit for 2020/21 is £3.13M, of which Southampton City Council’s share is £2.65M. £2.20M of Southampton City Council’s share is to be taken into account in setting the 2021/22 council tax.
Reasons for the decision:
The report and recommendations have been prepared as part of the statutory requirement to set the Council Tax Base for the year commencing 1 April 2021.
