Purpose:
This paper will provide the Executives
response to the recommendations set out in the Scrutiny Inquiry
Report on Tackling Childhood Obesity in Southampton, submitted to
Cabinet on 18 August 2020.
Decision:
To receive and approve the proposed responses to the recommendations of the Scrutiny Inquiry Panel, taking a phased approach to implementation with phase one starting from January 2021 within existing resources and phase two from January 2023 or when additional funding can be secured, as set out in Appendix 2.
Reasons for the decision:
The overview and scrutiny rules in part 4 of the Council’s Constitution requires the Executive to consider all inquiry reports that have been endorsed by the Overview and Scrutiny Management Committee (OSMC), and to submit a formal response to the recommendations within them.
