It really is worth having your say!

It really does pay to have your say as tenants in Townhill Park have found out.

Our Tenant Engagement Team offer lots of different ways for you to make your voice heard – and we do listen and respond to your feedback and suggestions about the Housing Service.

Earlier this year we conducted a survey amongst tenants at 46 Roundhill Close in Townhill Park and now we’re reporting back on the results and explaining what actions we will be taking because of feedback and ideas suggested by the local community. The responses from these tenants will help inform our future regeneration plans at Townhill Park, and will also help us to improve the housing service in other areas of the city too.

Here is a taster of some of the comments and our responses:

  • "Despite the best efforts of the cleaners, the block soon gets very dirty." We have asked contractors to keep communal areas clean and tidy and the contractors have added extra cleaning staff to keep the block and bin areas looking smarter.
  • The call system and lifts do not always work.” We have reminded residents to report any faults with lifts and call systems straight away so that we can organise repair work quickly and minimise inconvenience.
  • It is concerning the front door is sometimes left open and fire doors are blocked.” We have engaged a new company to provide fire marshals and we are asking all residents to report issues straight away.
  • There is a lack of parking, can you install parking poles?” We are aware that some properties are using multiple spaces, and that some non-residents are using the carpark, so we are looking at how to address these issues. We are developing a plan to resolve parking problems which could include installing parking poles, and we will consult with residents to discuss proposals.

If you have any concerns or issues about your home or neighbourhood you can raise these with your Local Housing Office or talk to your local Neighbourhood Warden. There are regular walkabouts and estate inspections where you can join housing staff for a stroll around the estate to point out any issues of concern. And if you would like to make your voice heard at a higher level, why not join one of our tenants’ groups that report your findings directly to senior council staff and councillors?

Plus, there are ways that you can help to improve the upkeep of areas around your home by becoming a Block Rep, Green Space Monitor or Cleaning Monitor. Find out more and discover how you can get involved by emailing our Tenant Engagement Team or calling 023 8083 3185.
