Get rid of pests the right way

Never let off a pest bomb (a pesticide product containing aerosol propellants) to fumigate your home as these are potentially dangerous and in breach of your tenancy agreement. Plus, experts say they are unlikely to eradicate an infestation.

One tenant who recently used a pest bomb in their council flat is now facing a bill of almost £2000 as the pest bomb activated the smoke alarm which resulted in the fire service responding and breaking down the front door to enter the flat. The tenant, who was out at the time of the drama, must now pay for a new door and could also be charged by the fire service for a false alarm.

So, not only was the pest bomb ineffective, but it ended up costing that tenant thousands of pounds in damage.
