Become a COVID-19 Community Champion

It is more important than ever to ensure that people in Southampton stay up to date with the latest guidance and advice, to help keep us as safe as possible.

Our network of COVID-19 Community Champions are made up of people who live, work and learn in the city, all playing their part to keep communities safe by sharing important information and advice whilst providing the Public Health and Stronger Communities team with feedback.

What we do

All COVID-19 Community Champions will be kept informed of the latest advice, guidance, and key resources through a combination of email newsletters and exclusive weekly online forums over Zoom, allowing the chance to ask questions to the Public Health Team. There’s also a Facebook group and ability to sign up for updates via WhatsApp broadcasts.

By receiving timely and accurate information regularly, we hope this will help people in Southampton to get clear information on how to stay safe and reduce the risk of getting and spreading the infection, as well as knowing what additional support is available.

Your role as a COVID-19 Community Champion

We want you to share this reliable and up to date COVID-19 information with anyone in your network such as your family, friends, and community. As a COVID-19 Community Champion you will be a voice for those around you, your household, school, work, club, group of friends or your local communities.

There is no time commitment and you can choose what information is relevant, but we would encourage you to share this with your networks. This could be during conversations or perhaps on your social media channels.

Remember: Being a COVID-19 Community Champion is not an enforcement or regulatory role.
