IT firm expands presence in city with new office move

CEO Don Iro, who is from Bishops Waltham, where he is also a councillor, has a large presence in Southampton, holding a position as an independent governor for Solent University.

He hopes that the move will allow the company to help more businesses within the region and continue to grow its existing client base.

He said: ‘Being from the area myself, I’m naturally passionate about the city of Southampton and am eager to not only grow ourselves in the city, but to help other businesses and organisations by supporting them with our services.’

He will run the Southampton arm of the business from The Old Bond Store in Back of the Walls in the city centre.

The company, which celebrated its 20 year in trading in February, will provide cloud computing systems, co-managed IT services, disaster recovery and business VOIP solutions to firms across the region.

Allteks has and continues to support Citizen’s Advice Services (CAS) around Southampton by installing virtual hubs within public buildings to allow people who do not have access to technology at home to access the services.

It installed its first hub in Southampton Central Library as a pilot scheme and has since installed a second in Shirley Library, with a third in Woolston in the pipeline.

It recently secured £250,000 finding to roll out even more of the hubs across Hampshire to allow more people to access Citizens Advice.

The initiative was initially set up during lockdown to allow people to use the service in a Covid-safe way with staff working from home but has since proved that its benefits go beyond the pandemic.

Don said: ‘We’ve learned across the months that this has been in place that it brings so many more benefits with it. With less staff being required to travel into a physical workplace, they won’t be as harshly affected by rising fuel costs. It will also help to lower emissions, which will help CAS on their journey to net zero, which will be another huge benefit.’

Allteks is also working with organisations within the third sector such as local enterprise partnerships and local authorities.
