Solent Business and Skills Solutions celebrates its success In supporting local business

Since its launch back in September of 2023, Solent Business and Skills Solutions has been dedicated in its mission to support local businesses by addressing the unique needs and challenges faced by the Solent region. Through a diverse array of services ranging 1-1 support and collaborative masterclasses to sustainability programs for small businesses, Solent Business and Skills Solutions has equipped countless SMEs with the tools and knowledge necessary to overcome the barriers they are facing.

One such business that they have recently assisted is Southampton Chauffeur Hire. Southampton has enormous potential for Private Hire chauffeur services due to its large population and it being home to the UK’s busiest cruise port. After initially seeing a social media advertisement offering support, Nick, owner of Southampton Chauffeur Hire, reached out looking for some assistance around his website. “As a sole trader, with limited funds, I build my own website and increase its prominence by SEO… I was interested in help with my website and in particular Search Engine Optimisation as well as keeping up to date with current accepted and changing practises in a challenging business environment.”

SBSS advisor Gulzar was able to meet with Nick to evaluate the needs of his business. After this initial discussion Gulzar introduced Nick to the team’s digital marketer, Adam. Through an evaluation of the website, Adam was able to make a number of suggestions to help improve and maintain Nick’s Website. “Adam was very knowledgeable and made some great recommendations which I have since applied.” Nick stated. As a local small business, I have received valuable free support which is very much appreciated.”
