Guidance for Members who sit on outside bodies

A number of Members are appointed by the authority to sit on a variety of outside bodies. Members who sit on outside bodies are given guidance by the Monitoring Officer to ensure that they meet their obligations in terms of corporate governance, ethics and probity, and discharge their responsibilities in accordance with the Code of Conduct but also so they have awareness of the specific obligations of the role such as being a trustee or a company director which may at times appear at conflict with Council duties.
