New to Year 6

Thursday 3 October
09:00 – 16.00

This course is for teachers who are new to year 6 or have not taught in year 6 for some time. Delegates will have the opportunity to reflect on maths teaching in Year 6 with a presentation from the Maths Hub, focusing on planning and teaching the different content domains.

Delegates will discuss the key messages from the updated Reading Framework and explore the 2024 Reading paper, considering implications of both for teaching reading in year 6.

Delegates will develop a greater understanding of the Teacher Assessment Framework and how to use this to assess pupil’s writing.
