Infant feeding working group
Our Infant Feeding Working Group is made up of individuals from multiple agencies within Southampton, working collaboratively to deliver the Infant Feeding Element of the Family Hub Start for Life Programme. Our goal is to ensure you are supported fully throughout your entire infant feeding journey.

El - Infant Feeding Working Group chair

Hi! I'm El (she/her) and I chair the Infant Feeding Working Group.
I'm also the Service Manager of the Breastfeeding Network Service in Southampton & have been supporting families for 13 years.
Claire - Infant Feeding Co-ordinator

My name is Claire I am the infant feeding co-ordinator within the infant feeding team with the health visiting service.
I visit families in their home to help support them with their feeding journeys.
Clare - Midwife

Pam - Social Prescriber at St Peters and The Old Fire

My name is Pam and I am a Social Prescriber at St Peters and The Old Fire Station Surgeries in Woolston.
My role is to support patients with non-clinical, non-medical matters. An example of this may be to assist a patient to access activities in their locality which they might be unable to do themselves.

I co-lead La Leche League Southampton and have been supporting nursing parents since 2014.

I am also a postnatal doula with a passion for breastfeeding, baby-wearing and cooking nutritious meals for new mums

We will:
- Provide breastfeeding leaflets in each of our family hubs
- Have an infant feeding section on the family hub website
We asked: Which reclining feeding chair would you prefer in our breastfeeding rooms?
You said:
- 84% preferred 'A'
- Some would prefer a static chair
- Some suggested covers for easy cleaning
We will: Provide chair A in each breastfeeding room, with a washable cover as well as a static chair or sofa.
