What is plastic kitchenware?
Plastic kitchenware are plates, bowls, knives, forks, spoons etc. comprised of or partially comprised of plastic, that are used in the kitchen with the intention of coming into contact with food.
Some plastic kitchenware originating in or consigned from China and Hong Kong contains polyamide or melamine. These have been found to present a potential risk to human health.
Not all plastic kitchenware from China and Hong Kong contains polyamide or melamine. Those that do are assigned a commodity code of 3924 10 00 11.
